ADVOCACY

LPSA the official representatives of students at Lethbridge Polytechnic, mandated by the Alberta Post-Secondary Learning Act. Through Alberta Secondary Students Executive Council (ASEC) we combine our voices with other student leaders to lobby the province for student interests. At the institutional level, we find out what the students' concerns are and turn it into effective action by sitting on various committees and working groups (academic council, EDI committees, academic appeals).

2025 Academic Provincial budget advocacy:

Your Lethbridge Polytechnic Students' Association (LPSA) is taking action with other Alberta student government associations to address the critical issue of post-secondary funding cuts. Below is the message created by our provincial lobbying partner Alberta Students' Executive Council (ASEC).

With Budget 2025 around the corner, ASEC stands united with students' associations across Alberta in calling for government to restore operational grant funding in post-secondary education. Our members identified this as a core priority this year and are proud to stand by so many others as we call for this important investment we know is an essential ingredient in sustainable economic prosperity and world-leading innovation. When we succeed in offering a first-rate education, we do our part to safeguard the Alberta Advantage for generations to come.
